The Paris Review Internship Program

The Paris Review offers full-time internships on a rolling basis. On your application please clearly indicate your desired starting date. Your application must be postmarked at least one month before that date. The one exception: applicants for a summer internship should have their applications postmarked by March 1.

Each internship lasts between three and four months, affording interns the opportunity to participate in a full production schedule. Interns participate in every step of the production process, from the solicitation of material to editorial meetings, fact-checking, proofreading, and distributing copies. More regular duties include reading manuscripts, tracking submissions, maintaining office databases, and helping to keep our busy office organized.

Paris Review internships are a great introduction to the literary world. Past graduates have gone on to find work at a wide range of literary agencies, publishing houses, magazines, and newspapers, among them HarperCollins, FSG, The Gernert Agency, The Wylie Agency, The New York Sun, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, and The Wall Street Journal. Others have gone on to enjoy successful freelance careers as editors and writers.

Prospective interns must have completed their junior year in college. College applicants are encouraged to negotiate with their college registrar’s office to receive academic credit for their internships. At this time, the Paris Review internship is unpaid.
